There is a nexus of fear which stops change from happening:

  • Why: lack of understanding about why change is necessary 

  • Trust: lack of confidence in institutions and businesses 

  • Fear: the deep fear of change

  • Defensiveness: institutions are defensive when they engage with communities 

The solution is to build connections between government, community, politics and businesses, but because of the above, there is a deep disconnect between these audiences.
